Grants & Funding

The mission of the Historical Collections Council of California Art, is to promote the early California artwork and artists. Education about the art is a primary focus, along with developing and publicizing relevant exhibitions and publications. A secondary focus is the selective conservation and restoration of important works making them available for public viewing. 

Past grants have included:

  • Funds provided in order to bus schoolchildren to museums for educational tours

  • Contributions to help fund exhibitions

  • Financial assistance provided for the publication of catalogs

  • Selected grants made to restore and conserve important paintings

 

HCC Grants vary in size and are considered based on whether the request meets with the aims stated in our Mission Statement.

Casa Romantica ($1000) to complete weatherproofing and lighting of recently restored historical mural by Norman Kennedy,  Laguna Art Museum ($15,000) for development and production of catalog for Joseph Kleitsch: Abroad and at Home in Old Laguna exhibition
